Religion. Who Needs It?
  • This board has been set up for us to discuss religion and whether there is any point to it at all.

I personally hate religion and any idiot that spouts it. I know 'hate' is a strong word to use, but I really do mean what I say. I believe keeping away from people like this is a means to a peaceful life. It only ever seems to be retards who promote these warped religious notions and none of them can ever account properly for their faith when pushed to. A bit like this:

'I'm religious because I'm pig-shit-ignorant and don't want to learn anything or see anything for myself'

Take a look around the world and see where all the hurt is. It's usually being controlled or maintained by some religious notion or another. Or it's used by a few to exploit uneducated people out of all they might own or come to own. Big corporations will pump money into religion e.g; churches and preachers because they know that these employees and institutions will work faithfully to keep the people down and away from any chance of questioning their activities.

It's done a lot of damage to Ireland where I live and I'd say it's probably done the same for everyone else's country.

What do other members of Sensitize think about religion?

My life has flipped flopped between belief and non-belief all my life. I have came to the conclusion that organised religions are self defeating and anyone taking up religion as a career alternative or to place themselves in a position of importance are worse than the very basest of politicians.

I have now fallen into my own personal religion where I recognise that the entire universe is itself God and is too large and generally beyond our comprehension to be described or possibly understood by us, the descendants of monkies.

I now, therefore, worship my own diety who I describe as "The Great Spirit Badger". We are all his children (even the left footers) and he loves us, one and all.

Yup, you'll get no disagreement with me on that Lugh. I dabbled with christianity as a teenager - met a lot of nice people. Didn't believe a word and never felt the presence of anything more than been preached to in a massive building!

War, famine, death, Aids, depression, repression, regression, oppression... would God "let" these things happen? IN HIS NAME???

If so he's a ****!

Another good point mate. It's a bit mute though because the whole notion of a 'god' is a human-made one. We created 'god'... So technically we're expected to kneel down before what we created ourselves. Seems a bit fucking pointless lol  ...

Ah haaaaaaaa.....

I see Catholicism has decided to move with the times:

Are all religions drifting towards this sublime and wiser approach / method of layin' down their dogmas anyway?

Religion folks. Can't live with it  . Shouldn't have to  ...
