Taser Parties in the USA

Post by Louis P. Burns aka Lugh »

Just caught this on the BBC News 24 broadcasts. It seems that a continent already falling to pieces with gun crimes are now fully endorsing the wholesale release of taser weaponry to the public;-

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/7390607.stm

I'm personally opposed to these devices because they have already been behind the deaths of many people. I see them as yet another needless weapon put into the hands of already very panicked people. I respect and understand fully people's fears in today's violent world and their need to feel safe but, is cattle-prodding everyone (some to death) really the way forward or a new fangled form of lobotomy (and death)?

Do any of our members have any opinions either opposed to or in favour of taser weaponry and their increasing popularity through taser parties?
