Brendon Burns, Controversial Australian Comedian Wins Comedy

Post by Louis P. Burns aka Lugh »

Brendon Burns, Controversial Australian Comedian Wins Edinburgh Comedy Fringe Festival Award 2007

To be 100% honest with you all here, and I know it wont make me popular. He deserves it. It really is time we told the woolly-minded Politically Correct Brigade to fuck off. They've ruined the arts and comedy in particular. I honestly don't think Brendon Burns is into racism but working with it as a focused medium for his performances. That takes guts and a strong desire to eliminate racism and reveal us all as equals - if we'd just get over our hang-ups. To be heckled by the Asian/Indian woman in the audience and called a racist, then compared with the Nazis as she storms off speaks volumes about her paranoia/xenophobia.

I accept that there is a lot of ugly racism out there towards Asians, Indians. I also view it as disgusting and generated by the media to keep knuckle-dragging morons believing they have a purpose in life or a just war to fight as they earn money for their masters in Washington/Westminster. I'm also well aware that the British government's 'war-on-terror' relies on hatred of Muslims and that the morons mentioned above make the mistake, all too frequently, of lumping anyone with brown skin alongside extremist Muslims - but a professional entertainer and comedy award winner? No chance, not unless he wants sued into oblivion.

Anyway. Decide for yourselves:

Brendon Burns' DVD So I Suppose This Is Offensive Now! is released today. I hope it sells like hot cakes and pisses off the morally-uptight and up-their-own-arse religious fanatics, real homophobes, racists and sectarian imbeciles, working to impose backwards thinking on a forward thinking society...
