Dirty Linen

Sunlight pushes tiny fingers through gaps in the curtains
They leave laser lines over the bed
Illuminating the disarray of cotton and linen
Tangled, love knotted sheets brazenly obvious.

DNA strand on the pillow tells tales on you
Long and golden, a length of yellow silk
I hold it between shaking digits
and in my minds eye can see her reclining in ecstasy

The sails of the bed are shaken and thrown
To the confines of dirty secrets and soiled promises
Willingly replaced by the fresh sweet smelling squares
That we bought together, before.

Except that I would ditch the capitals at the start of lines, this is a well nigh perfect poem.

Good one, Kate.

Thanks all,

This is one of my own all time fave's. Of course it's not in the least bit autobiographical; if it was I'd have found a new use for garden shears in his phalic region...

...and Argie...'blog pics???' Hahahaha! I have nothing whatsoever to do with that ginger haired heffalump - I'm far sexier!! And as I'm sure you know it's our 'imperfections' which in turn make us 'perfect' - thank God I have so many...
